Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a challenging season, managing just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the American major.
The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.
Presently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, he has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents his maiden trophy after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court after spring of 2023.
The win also means Medvedev has secured 21 titles at 21 distinct events.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters together, so to get a championship is particularly special," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.
His retrieving strategy and regular outbursts on court had prompted commentators to doubt if his skill to play at the top level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, attempting to advance forward and play aggressively, reinforced by an improved serve.
He came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the last five points to go ahead.
The pair traded break points in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to create a final set.
He defended four early-game break points in a close deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner earned victory with a shot at the net, with his opponent unable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
